I'm not a great great fan of Bernstein's "ondes martenot"-obsessioned period, but the main theme of this soundtrack is one of those little Bernstein's jewels, so delicate, so ethereal, so inspirated.
There are no composers now who speak so truly, as if it was easy.
It's hit n' miss as far as Bernstein is concerned. I really respect him as a film composer, but some of his scores don't do anything for me. This one, does, however :)
